Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Hi — these are the terms you agree to when you order, subscribe, or interact with Baked by Alexa (“the site”). They're kept short and human on purpose. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to what's below. If you don't, please don't use the site.

1. Who I am

Baked by Alexa is a small home-based bakery operated by Alexa, a sole proprietor. I'm not incorporated or licensed as a commercial bakery; loaves are made under cottage-food rules in my state. You can reach me at Bakedbyalexa24@gmail.com.

2. Ordering and payment

  • Placing an order through the site is a request to reserve loaves for a specific pickup week. I'll confirm the order by email.
  • Payment is required at the time you place your order — sent via Venmo to @Alexa-Uber. Orders aren't confirmed for baking until payment is received. There's no card on file and orders aren't charged automatically.
  • Prices listed on the site are in US dollars and may change at any time. The price quoted to you at the time of order is what you pay for that order.
  • Available weekly capacity is limited. If your week fills up after you submit, I'll contact you to move your order or refund you in full.

3. Pickup

  • Pickup is from my home in Ohio, by appointment, during the pickup week you select. The exact day and time will be coordinated by email or text.
  • I'll email you when your loaf goes in the oven, and again when it's cooled and ready to pick up. Loaves are freshest within 24-48 hours of being baked.
  • If you don't pick up by the end of your selected week and we haven't agreed on a different arrangement, the loaf may be donated or composted and the order won't be refunded.

4. Cancellations and refunds

  • You can cancel a full order for any reason up to 24 hours after placing it, free of charge.
  • After I've started preparing your loaf (typically the morning of the bake), I can't offer a refund — sourdough takes a lot of hands-on time.
  • If you receive a loaf and have a quality concern, please email me at Bakedbyalexa24@gmail.com within 48 hours and I'll make it right.

5. Food allergens and safety

Important: My kitchen is not a certified allergen-free facility. All loaves are prepared in a home kitchen that handles wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, soy, and sesame. Cross-contamination is possible, even on loaves that don't list those ingredients.

I do my best to keep things clean and to flag obvious allergens in the ingredient lists for each loaf, but I can't guarantee any loaf is free from trace allergens. If you have a severe allergy or celiac disease, please consider whether ordering is right for you, and email me with questions before placing an order.

Loaves are sold as-is and are not intended for resale. You assume responsibility for any adverse reaction caused by ingredients listed on the site.

6. Communications

When you place an order or subscribe to be notified, you agree to receive transactional emails related to that order or subscription (e.g. order confirmation, status updates, and a message when orders reopen). You can opt out at any time by emailing Bakedbyalexa24@gmail.com.

7. Intellectual property

Photography, copy, recipes, and design on the site are the property of Baked by Alexa. You may share or link to the site, but please don't copy substantial portions of the content for commercial use without asking.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Baked by Alexa is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or consumption of any loaf. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.

9. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
